It’s my colossal contentment to welcome you to the department of Journalism and Media Studies (JMS) of Manarat International University (MIU). After being established in 2013, it has been a tremendous journey so far for the department in creating technically skilled and ethically sound media activists for all forms of media outlets in the country. As an undergraduate discipline, Journalism and Mass Communication is offered by some 23 public and private universities in Bangladesh and MIU is one of them and to be more specific, a unique one. MIU creates its uniqueness by providing quality education with a distinct emphasis on moral excellence which has been observed as an infrequent combination in the educational history of Bangladesh. MIU provides career with character. It is now ubiquitously acknowledged that information is power, hence the media is basically a powerhouse. Whoever controls the media controls the mind, power and state. Incredible technological advancement narrowed the world down to the palms of human hands. Therefore, journalism has been crucially decisive in our daily life and living more than ever before. If you wish to be that decision-maker, if you intend to be the change-maker, if you desire to lead a cherished career, MIU Journalism department once again welcomes you! Our graduates and current students are working in several mainstream media houses including Channel i, SomoyTV, RTV, Manabzamin and other news outlets. Now, it’s your turn!
